An era of reorganization
His lifetime encompassed secularization, French rule, and the subsequent Prussian reorganization. The chronicle later lists him as having ‘no trade’; whether this reflects the loss of his farm position or another means of support remains uncertain.
The connection to Steele
In 1821 he married Anna Gertrud Plümer. Their son Johann Heinrich was born the following year. Johann Heinrich Georg died in Steele in 1824; Anna Gertrud lived until 1871.
